I think this question could also be phrased as "Do you want your toothpaste tube to work, or not?"
I naturally squeeze from the top, and eventually have to push up from the bottom :P
Squeeze from the end, because I hate when my toothpaste tube isn't straight... I even roll it up and use a binder clip to keep it in place so it doesn't all go back to the bottom.
